The Governing Body

The Governing Body meets as one team, six times per year. The purpose of governance is to provide confident, strategic leadership and to create robust accountability, oversight and assurance for educational and financial performance.

The Governing Body has three strategic core functions:

• Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
• Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff; and
• Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.

The Governing Board delegates some of its work to working groups and monitoring pairs/individuals. The full terms of reference can be found here along with the constitution and governance structure of the governing body.

We welcome feedback and value your comments. If you wish to raise issues relating to the day-to-day management of the school these should, in the first instance be referred to our Headteacher. Our Governors

We currently have vacancies for a foundation governor, a staff governor and a parent governor

• Mr Paul Brewster is Acting Chair and was elected Vice Chair until first meeting 2027-27 academic year

Governors also serve on these two Panels/Committees.

A key role for all governors is monitoring where they meet with staff and observe school activities and pupils learning. These monitoring areas are often linked to strategic goals or compliance areas. Current monitoring areas are
