Physical Education (PE)
Never say never because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion.

We follow a carefully planned progression of skills and knowledge from Reception to Year 6.
Pupils have the opportunity to explore the key elements of PE within the coached and school-led curriculum. The balance of content is carefully designed to ensure that pupils develop skills towards an end goal, such as taking part in a game or performing a dance, as well as developing pupils' awareness of the breadth of exciting opportunities that sport offers for participation and for living a healthy, active life. Pupils make connections between prior and new learning and practice the skills and techniques taught with increasing proficiency.
Our PE curriculum has a spiral structure and is designed to:
- Have increasing depth, so that each time a skill or area of knowledge is revisited, it is covered more fully.
- Build on prior knowledge so that pupils can build on skills and knowledge that they have already learnt.
- Provide ongoing feedback and demonstration to improve the quality of pupils’ work over time.
- Be inclusive, so that all can access learning and enjoyment through participation.
- Provide pupils with the opportunity to rehearse and revisit some knowledge and skills, such as ball skills, within both subject areas.
Each year group will be taught PE twice a week.
